FarPath Technology Overview

FarPath specializes in Devulcanized Rubber Powder Modified Bitumen. Our technology is protected by granted patents in China (ZL 2010 1 0158249.7), the United States (US 8,912,241 B2), and Canada (CA 2797305). The patents cover chemical adhesion promoters and chemically modified asphalt mixtures and are unique within their jurisdictions during the term.

Core technology

We upcycle rubber powder from waste tires and apply devulcanization to break sulfur cross‑links and reactivate polymer chains. The activated surface achieves stronger bonding and better compatibility with bitumen. Based on a chemistry‑driven adhesion route, our process enables direct production of modified asphalt mixtures and delivers:

  • Up to 50% thinner pavement layers for the same performance class—cutting materials and carbon emissions.
  • Cost & environmental gains by hydrogenating residual oil from drilling sludge to reduce binder usage, and by using high‑temperature steel slag as a filler replacement to enhance structure.
  • Process innovation that lowers CAPEX and emissions versus traditional modification, delivering energy savings and operational efficiency.

Key benefits

  • High bond strength for long‑term stability.
  • Superior durability against cracking, rutting, abrasion and aging.
  • Circularity at scale: extensive use of waste tires, drilling sludge and steel slag.
  • Economic impact: deliver twice the road length at the same investment level.

Applications

  • Highways & urban roads
  • Bridges & interchanges
  • Heavy‑duty logistics corridors
  • Regions with extreme temperatures

Sustainability

By combining circular materials with an optimized process, we align cost reduction, decarbonization, and quality—with strong potential for global deployment.
